I'm looking at Select Quote as a potential job. It would be working out of one of their call centers. I've never worked under those conditions and don't really know what to expect. The recruiter I spoke to on the phone didn't give me enough information. He did tell me that different leads paid different amounts and the the call center was a casual enviroment and that I would be on 40k/year salary for the first 6 months. Has anyone worked for them? Can you shed some light on this position for me? I really appreciate it.

Hay, I just had a phone interview with them last month. The location is Wheeling.
Have you ever worked in a call center?

This is my understanding:
You will have plenty of free leads.
You will need to learn how to one call close if you do not know how to currently
You should know that you will have to make and take as many calls in a day as you can. (NO getting up to walk around, hanging in the coffee room, talking to your friends, personal calls, etc.)

I asked them about commission also when I was talking over the phone to the interviewer and she said that she could not give me that information. That would have to come from another interviewer.

I think I would be able to sell enough policies within 6 months to bring in enough commissions to equal 40 + throughout the year. ((However I would have to know the commission before I made a decision))

I worked with a similar company and sold $54,000.00 in premiums in a 3 month time frame. That's $216,000.00 worth of premium within a year. (What's the commission though?)

If you live in Illinois
call Matrix direct
and LifeQuotes inc

I think any of these companies would be great to work for. ((remember more phone time, more money))

Like the other call centers, unless you are a rock star on the phone you will probably only make $50k. Only the top few producers in call centers make any money. They are happy with their $50k/year income employees.
