Health Choice One Versus Stephens Matthews

I am new agent starting on my own and I was curious who I should go through. As a new agent I need an advance, but I do not want to get in a bad situation down the road.

The levels seem kind of low. 10% with a 6 month advance with Golden Rule and 10% with a 9 month advance with Humana? Is that good for a new agent. I plan on writing quite a bit of business, but are other agencies offering more?

I always like to do business while knowing what someone is making off of me, but it is hard to find these numbers. Even if I call the carriers direct, no one can give me an upfront answer.

Sorry if this question has been answered before, but I am new to the forum.

Please Help!

Hold on a second! I have a 14 point direct contract with Golden Rule. So if you are getting 10% what are the GA's making? 3 points or 5? Meaning they are still making 18 to 20%?

I've heard good things about Stephens Matthews. But then again I've heard good things about HCO. My personal experience with HCO was not a good one!

I did not like HCO when I talked to them. I don't like the way they do business. Not upfront and straightforward, IMO.

if your going to post negative reviews about an fmo, you must give an explanation, otherwise it wont help anyone

Does anyone know what the GA's make or what the top level is on Golden Rule?

16-17 % points

My main concern are the whispers behind doors. No one can give me a straight answer on how much they are making off of me. I do not care about support or training. I just want to make sure I do not get locked in a contract that seems like MLM almost.

Can anyone tell me what the top contracts are? Agent or agency?

I like to know before I sign a contract how much someone is making, too.

He kind of did say. He said they weren't upfront and honest which happens to be something I have heard myself.

Also if they are making 17 points (which I doubt it can be that high) then they are keeping close to 40% of the comp after health care reform?
