Is Chrome Really Faster? Does It Work Well with Carrier Sites?

Is it my imagination or is the Google Chrome browser REALLY faster than Firefox? It sure seems so on my iMac with DSL.

Is anyone using this browser? Does it work well with most carrier sites?

My version does not work with Aetna Producer world, but neither does Safari. Only Firefox and IE (which I use when I virtualize Windows) works with it. Ohio National is another carrier that seems to be very IE-centric.

If it IS faster than Firefox I might want to look at it.

Me too. My Firefox is slow although I think it is the CA Security that I have. Our other computer runs at WARP speed but does not have the CA thing.

I only use Chrome when possible. Other sites are catching up. For example, Constant Contact is now Chrome compatible.

When I use Chrome and click "go" it just goes there. When I use EI and click go to a site it's like EI goes "hmmm....ok, someone just told me to go somewhere. I need to get on that."

Sites that are not compatible with all of the main browsers are designed by either lazy designers or designers without a clue. There is no reason I site cannot be fully compatible.

I have been running Chrome on my confuser since it first came out. My neighbor told me to use it and one free antivirus. He also said to never use IE if I could avoid it.
He builds/maintains computer systems (IT guy) for the NHL (National Hockey League)

Anyway, I love it! It is very easy to use for me. I still haven't figured everything out but then again I don't know all that much about confusers.

I'm eventually going to just get another confuser. One for work and one for porn.

For porn, Chrome has a feature called "incognito browsing" in which no cookies are made and no history entry is made.

I've been using Chrome for the past week and while I don't like how the drop-down bookmark folders work (too much space between the entries... see attached) and a few other things about the interface, it seems to be much faster. I think this is because it caches the DNS info... which for many you is TMI.

It is faster. Check the Performance test results a Cnet.com for proof. Just search for google chrome on the site.

What I'm interested in is the new Google computer. No desktop. Nothing to load. It's instant. Start it and you're in the net.

I use cloud technology for everything and no longer need my desktop.

@ Al
I'm familiar with the incognito feature. I am concerned with viruses and my computer just slowing down or someone taking my computer and seeing any 'riskay' stuff. Like a client screwing around with it while I'm away from it.

I haven't heard of this computer. I haven't heard of cloud technology either.

What do you mean you no longer use a desktop? You use a laptop? What are you using?

For example, I used to store all of my documents/spreadsheets, etc...on my desktop. Now they're all stored on box.net.

Yes..modest fee however I can access them anywhere. All of my photos are also stored online.
