:skeptical:

I am trying to give myself a small jumpstart to a new book of business at a new agency. I am equipped with about 25 home/auto carriers, covering non-standard, mid-market, and preferred carriers. I share the office with two fairly established agents but I need to fluff my book. I have a 65% closing ratio (or better) due to the great carrier selection and the ability to sell, and cross-sell with the best of them. Every time I get to the point where I am about to purchase some leads, I see a review that scares me. So, I have yet to buy any. Does anyone have a good source of leads that actually pays off? I cannot afford to spend my own money and have extra charges, bogus leads, etc. HELP! :err:

I can help any P&C agencies who need at least 100 realtime leads a day and have done at least 2mil in revenue in the last fiscal year.

I understand that you want to build your book, but why in the world would anyone want to spend money on p&c leads when they have a perfectly good telephone.

Agree with Dwayne...with a few suggestions

Buy list#1- everyone who fits your target market, filtered by credit score,auto/home ownership, etc and is NOT on the DNC...call or hire someone to call them

Buy list #2- all others with same filters and are ON the DNC...this is your direct mail list

I use 10% of gross revenue at my agency on marketing. So I've tried almost every possible avenue. Purchased leads ROI is crap compared to these other two. Purchased leads are, however, very attractive to those who want things handed to them. Capitalize on your competitions laziness.

You are always going to hear bad things about all companies.

You just have to give them a chance.

I like Agent Insider, have good luck with them and you can shut off your leads for the day or weekend, I find that saves alot of money.

I only sell commercial so what I did was buy a list of 370,000 business in Virginia, arranged them in numerical order by SIC code, deleted the types of businesses that were bad, like governments agencies and hospitals, then took those that were left and narrowed them down to a 50 mile radius, loaded those into my MOJO, and away I went.

I agree with the sentiment above. The easiest way to get leads for a commodity product like car insurance is to pick up a list and make a ton of phone calls.

While phone calling is still one of the best lead generation methods I can give a try to the online marketing. There are plenty of companies offering nice rates. Don't worry about reviews, try only those who your closest friends tried.

I'm wondering myself about the good lead companies; the problem I'm having is that I'm a captive agent and the co. I work for is all about doing so many quotes a day; then the management squeeze comes in and you've got 6 months to make so many quotes and sales or your out the door! So, yes, are there any good quote, lead generation co. out there?

Agent Insider and Insureme are my two favorites because when a prospect fills out an quote form it displays your agency's contact info and a short statement afterwords. For an independent agent it helps you establish credibility quickly with prospects and with some of them they start expecting your call.
