Any suggestions for the best carrier to use in Michigan for a prospect that has more than a 30 day lapse in coverage due to financial hardship?

Already quoted thru Titan

You need to specify what type of policy this is. There is a lot of options depending on conditions. I use to work in MI but just H/L.

It sounds like an auto policy or home, since you mentioned Titan.
I don't do P/C.

With any whole life coverage you have a premium loan option to cover these situations.

Home or auto lapse? I don't work with Titan so I don't know what they do in your area.

Progressive/GMAC can do well for the auto, Foremost can do well for the home. They can be good as non-standard carriers and then you move them to a preferred carrier in the future as things get better.

REALLY? You dont have ANY carriers you can write no prior insurance, and titan does do that.

Unfortunately, I'm working with an agent who is just getting started in there agency. We have our captive carrier who refuses to wrote anything with a gap in coverage and then we have Titan. I'm hoping to find a few companies that we might be able to work with to help us close more deals.

This is for Auto insurance and apologize for the lack if information.

Easiest thing to do: go to buy-here-pay-here places with insurance guys and see who they use. They see lapses all the time. Same for places that are like "cheap DUI insurance and low down payments" and "get a free beer for every quote" agencies.

Progressive will pretty much write anything. DUI, foreign license, gap in coverage, too many accidents, etc. They are my go-to for people I can't place with my captive carrier. I don't think I've ever had Progressive turn down a policy.
