Anyone have any experience with All Things Insurance? and their loss run service.

I have one commercial producer who does almost everything by "walk in" Although his success in getting the OK to quote...he struggles with the incumbent when the carrier requests loss runs. I'm wondering if this service triggers a notice to the incumbent when the carrier loss run is ordered?

I think a loss run is always going to do that.

I'm curious if the order...being from a third party...even triggers a notice to the incumbent? Would be great if you could get a loss run without tipping your hand

That would not seem possible since it is the current insurer that provides a loss run report.

Yes if you are the competing agent. But, No if you are the current. Very often we get a request for loss runs, often notified by the carrier. I have seen formal requests sent to the carrier on behalf of the insured instructing them specifically to NOT disclose the request to the agent, due to obscure federal law regarding fair competition, bla bla...then the carrier sends me the loss runs to deliver to insured!

I want my companies to tell me if they receive a request for loss runs from my insured or insured's representative.

However I am all for making it easy for the insured, and have heard positive reports from others about the third party companies that provide loss runs.

Good selling.

I used all things insurance several years ago. The nice thing about their service is they have a nice Rolodex of faxes and emails for a ton of carriers for requesting loss runs. They say the contact info is specific to ordering loss runs.

They have a generic cover letter they say guarantees your loss runs in 10 days. Just select your carrier, input policy #'s, have insured sign it and send it.

The reality is the request goes to a person, who can say they never received the request. So you've still got bs to deal with. Also, they do have the right to send those requested loss runs to the agent, to be given to the insured.

The only way I've known to order loss runs without alerting the current agent is to to get your quote 'subject to' the loss runs and order the loss runs last minute when it is to late for him to react. This strategy has its own stress and pitfalls though.

Best of luck.

Thanks guys, kind of opens that can of worms when the incumbent then offers a better price when threatened with a client leaving. WTF !!! Who stays with the guy who was fine with renewing him at a higher rate.
