How much business do you do by text? How do you back this up as proof?

Quotes for my friends are done by text sometimes. I always quote the liablity limits for auto and home at my suggested limits. I follow up with an email or call to run down the details then they sign the app which I can retain in my management system.

Are you talking about texting clients/prospects, or "cold texting" as it were?
I use texts for more and more of my business, but its always an additional contact method.
Had an accident? I'll text the claims number and the policy number to the individual to help them when they have a chance to call in the claim.
Had a minor fender bender? Text me a picture, we'll talk about it.
Just got pulled over, need your policy info? I'll text it to you (surprising how often this happens).
Missed a payment and policy is going to lapse? Don't answer my call and I'll text you as well, asking for you to call me (especially if you are younger).
Just bought a new widget for your car? Text me a picture of the widget and the receipt.
It's amazing how its become a part of my daily routine now.
I still hate texting though.....

It's becoming much more common place. That last carrier I worked for used text messaging a lot!

Get a Google Number.
Then you can give it out vs. your Cell Number. They can text you on it.
Of course, when you respond they will then have your cell number.
Plus you can forward your Google number to your office or to a Staff person when you are on vacation or just don't want to answer all the calls yourself!
