Moving to Another State

NJ is considered a foreign nation by Pennsylvanians! OMG, some feel that crossing the Delaware River is similar to crossing the River Styx:swoon:

I can understand the clients concern.
I mean...you'd have to get a passport, shots and then go through customs to get there, right? And by time you wait for the steam ship to arrive to take you across.....well, you get the picture.

My next run of business cards is only going to have a 800 number and no address. Younger business owners are more open but the more established ( older) guys really have a hard time getting past that I have to "travel" 5 miles to get to them....I can walk that in an hour...

Didn't the Delaware River catch on fire once? I can see how you'd think it was the River Styx. That and the fact that "Garden State" has to be the most inappropriate state motto ever.

Actually, it's North Jersey that is undeserving of the motto of the Garden State. South Jersey is another story. Along the shore line and south of say exit 7 on the turnpike, Jersey is really quite nice..

Jersey Shore, need I say anything else?

No, that was Lake Erie up in the Northwestern corner of the Keystone State. Believe it or not, there is a town in north central PA named Jersey Shore. It is about 15 miles SW of Williamsport on the banks of the West Branch Susquehanna River. It was originally called Waynesburg, but the nickname of "Jersey Shore" became the official name of the borough in 1826. See Wikipedia for the background on how the name came about. I don't think Snooki would be welcome there!

I have a similar issue. I started my business in PA and now live and work in NJ. The Delaware River is the border which is only a few miles west of me and I'm actually closer to my PA clients here in NJ than I was when I was located in PA, yet many of my PA clients think I moved overseas. There's just something about going over a bridge that puts a mental block in some people's minds..

Yeah you think it wouldn't matter what state you're located in....it's not like they are going to show up everyday to go to lunch with you and discuss their policy....
