Obtaining an AIC designation.

Hi All,

I am looking to begin a career in the insurance claims industry. I have seen that companies look for individuals with an Associate In Claims as minimum requirement. Being new to the industry, would it be wise for me to have this degree now or later? If so, does it take 18-24 months to actually obtain it? Also, would anyone have any recommendations to where I may be able to obtain this degree and not spend a fortune?

Sounds like more of a home office employee kind of program rather than one for agents. The vast majority of posters here are agents, so I'm not sure you'll get the info you need.

However, I bet @adjusterjack could give you an opinion on it.

Btw, designations are FAR cheaper than college degrees.
