Does anyone know if the Humana/Walmart Part D plan is portable to Florida for my snowbirds who spend winters there? And is the coverage alot less if they go to HyVee instead of Walmart pharmacy?

You (or they) should be able to use the plan finder for some basic information here.

Start up plan finder and put in the zip where they are staying and then look at pharmacy options. Put in 3 or 4, including a nearby WalMart. Then put in a a few of their meds and go on to the plan choice screens, scroll down to the humana walmart plan and see how pricing compares for the various pharmacy options.

In KS, for 2022, the Humana Walmart value plan had great pricing on my meds at the KS variant of the Kroger chains. If Kroger has a chain in FL, I'd try the pricing at those stores.

Just doing a very quick scan, I don't see much about Kroger in FL. I did see a comment about Publix being the big chain in FL. If I was researching your problem, I would go to your clients' zip, choose Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Publix, put in a list of at least 4 of their Meds and then compare pricing for the specific Humana plan.

PDPs are a bit more lenient as far as time spent outside the plan's service area. They shouldn't have any problems with that if they're there only for the winter. With that said they should keep an eye out for any mail from Humana.

The pharmacy network itself should be nationwide and they shouldn't have problems using the plan in FL.

This right here I have had many many clients use PDP and MAPD when out of state for long periods of time with no issues for 99.9% of them

Yet there has been a few who got cancelled, I had one who was doing work out of state Think it was an aetna drug plan, not 100% sure now a few years ago, But he got a letter he was being cancelled he had to call and plead with them he had not moved

There was another MA client same situation

I just this AEP had a client got cancelled from MA plan 2 weeks before a move she went to pick up drugs and was told her cov expired as of 10/31

She was moving mid nov and we were going to do 12/01 effective

She must have done something maybe at the SS office,m She swears she didn't call Ins company

but again 4 maybe 5 times out of hundreds
