Let's see.
I'm using Firefox. Nothing out of ordinary. Screen shows formatting as I type, but when I submit, it becomes a block.
Bet it has something to do with rep points.

With me, using Windows Explorer 8 was the culprit. Either that or combing in with Windows 7 -either way it is more often the browser that is the problem maker.
