I am from the old school.........suit and tie.

The last several years I have noticed the professional field going casual.

What is considered appropriate attire in todays market for an insurance agent interview?

www.iliaa.org has a great video on this...

It all depends on your client. Business owners I dress up for.

If it is a motorcycle club,,I dont.

I try and size up my client.

Most of the time...Polo and dress pants..

Are you talking about an interview for a position, or interviewing a prospect?

I am sorry. I am talking about an interview for a position. Usually when in front of a client unless a business owner or the setting requires, i wear dress slacks and a nice shirt. Maybe even a neck tie.

But for the job interview what does the industry expect these days? There has been so many changes in the way people prospect for a job these days.

I'd go with the suit. If you believe your potential clients warrant a dress shirt and maybe tie, then definitely wear a suit for your future boss.

You'll never alienate an office business person with a suit and tie. You might with a nice polo and dockers.

Why take a chance?

If you are interviewing with Bankers Life and Casualty, American Income, Combined, etc. It doesn't matter what you wear as long as you remember to breathe.
