Public Places to Set Up a Booth

I have a couple of small towns in my area that I've been marketing to with mailers, door-to-doors, etc. I've been thinking it might be a good idea to set up a table or booth in some local spot after seeing an AllState agent do the same thing a few weeks ago.

I'd like to set up a "Medicare Supplement and Life Insurance" booth for seniors to stop by and check rates or inquire about. Has anyone ever done this before? What are the hoops to jump through?

Was thinking grocery store, bank, or open city property in small town. I appreciate your wisdom; Mr. Miagis (sp?) of the Insurance world! :GEEK:

Really??? Wouldn't I at least need to talk to the manager or something? I've seen fundraisers out there before, but never something like what I'm talking about.

Next time you need discount cleaning materials-read the sign on the front entrance--something to the effect of not necessarily agreeing with or condoning solicitors.

Something tells me they won't let him have that kind of booth. Particularly when they are in bed with Humana on MA plans.

I believe what the sign refers to are the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, local charity, etc.

I've seen everything from tax prep services to bonsai trees for sale in front of Walmart

Jackson Hewlett? They have a deal with Wal-mart. Wal-mart is shrewd, they aren't going to let a for profit business be on their property without paying a cut.

I just called local Wal-Mart and spoke to the manager. There is a Solicitation Calendar and you can apply for a spot and have a booth from 9am-6pm on Thursday-Saturday. NO FEE to solicit.

I'm going up there to read their terms of solicitation. I'll post what it says. Still yet to be determined what I can exactly do out there.

You followed the best advice possible.
