The leftists have been trying to get it passed for years. It will never pass because its unconstitutional and the senate is in the pockets of the industry.

There is some obligatory discussion about single payer that will come up as part of the process but it is not on the horizon nor is banning private coverage. In fact, Canada went the other way three years ago when their Supreme Court ruled that the government could not ban provate coverage.
