My friends been working Medicare advantage for 3 years. The clients sent medicare mailers back saying they have medicare /Medicaid. They want more info on Dental ,Vision etc. He door knocks them and says " Mrs Jones you mailed this card back wanting info on Medicare plans and extra benefits you might be eligible for. You mailed this card in and said you had an interest in dental? They say yes . Before we can discuss anything i need to to sign this (scope of appointment). He said his big Imo said its a grayish area but legal? Is it ? If not How do you handle direct mail leads? Do you have to call and set an appt?

I doubt you'll get anyone to publicly say they do what your buddy does... I havent worked a DM lead in years, so I cant say I do what your buddy does.

No you can not door knock MA leads.
That doesn't even sound like MA leads. Sounds like dental leads.

No he's running the generic medicare leads from lead connections but would you like more info on Dental, vision or hearing. mailing to 0-20k as most have MA. He's not door knocking saying anything about medicare advantage . When he goes to the door he just says you filled this card out for info on medicare. He's asks if their on medicare or medicaid. When they say yes he says are you aware of extra benefits you might be eligible for. They say no and he says before i can talk about it sign here. Joe namath on tv mentions you might be eligible for Dental, vision, meals etc and at the end he says call the # below and its FREE. Namath doing 100 times worse than him

I received an MA mailer that emphasized the "New Benefits" allowed by law, Dental, Hearing, Vision, etc.

Mine was for "Medicare Recipients". "...eligible for additonal benefits..."

Phone number only desired on reply card, so it is for some telephone operation in FL.

Personally I dont look for MA sales and dont use anything like that

However I do see it on TV all the time, These MA commercials most of them are put exactly that way Do You have all the benefits your entitled to with medicare Are you aware you are entitled to dental vision and more and on and on they hit it every way all day long on TV

I was told that if there was a signature, then I could door knock. That being said, I've never done it because I felt like it was a grey area to be avoided.

It's a lead, you can doorknock a lead. It says, you may be contacted by an insurance agent (or it should). You can call, DN MA leads
