Take Me Off Your List

If you call a lead and they don't remember filling out the info request and say "take me off your list" obviously that means not to call them anymore but does that mean you can't knock on their door either?

Nope... There is not a "Do Not Knock" list... :) However, you might get a hostile reception but no more chance of that than any other cold knock.

Why would you want to harrass someone who does not want to talk to you?

I worked with a guy years ago that would go Rambo if someone asked him to leave, stop calling, etc.

His attitude was "That makes me more determined to hound him until he buys"

Just a wag, but I don't think he passed the Dale Carnegie course.

There are some people who are so put off with all the Robo calls they are getting that they just automatically ask to be placed on the do not call list without any consideration of the nature of the call. However, those same people can be very receptive in person. Don't forget, whether they remember it or not, this person did reply to a lead piece asking for information and that probably stated an agent would call so they must have had some interest at that time.

I fully agree. People will say and act in ways on telephones that they would never do in person.

I think the same is true with anonymous postings on message boards. People will say things anonymously they would not say in person or on a phone call where they know you know who they are.

Now I just knock.

Then run away?

I still remember my early days where we were REQUIRED to bug the shite out of them until they bought or met me at the door with a gun.

I was desperate for sales and would do almost anything. Once I moved out of the agency and worked independently production went up and I called the shots.

Life is too short to make yourself miserable.

Took a hub and wife app today. She was on my site about 5 months ago. Would not return calls or email.

So I sent her my "closing your file" email and killed the proposal link.

Last week she contacted me and said the link wasn't working. Generated a new proposal and put it on a 3 day timer.

She asked about a carrier I don't use. Told her why I stopped writing them. If she wants that carrier she needs to go direct to the carrier or find another agent.

Today she came up to the boat and jumped in.

Just gotta use the right bait
