To Leave a Message or Not Leave a Message That is the Question

I'm "fixin' to" (that's my Texan comin' out) begin using an auto dialer for cold calls, cross sales, etc. and I have a question for you auto-dialer experts. Should I leave messages on voicemails or just skip them and put that # on a follow-up list. I'm being told to do both things. What do you guys suggest? If you leave a message, what do you say?

don't leave a message, that is the answer...

i have a magic jack set up, and the display number will say my message... some auto dialers won't dial the next number for that spot until the message is complete, which ties your line up, and several people will see the number, and call back later...

my message says we were calling to save you money on your med supp, etc, leave a message if you want to save some money

Does that work? I do not use a dailer but if i leave a message for a cold call I just leave my name. And not the reason I am calling.

Depends on if you are using a dialer or not. If you can just have it leave a pre record message, why not. But if you have to spend the extra time living a live message, I would say no.

Even if you're using a dialer that lets you automatically leave a message, it doesn't really help if you're calling cold. If you're working warm leads then leaving a message can help, but you still need to keep following up.
