Trying to Get Appointed to Selective Ins

Hi all,

This is my first post here, but I know I'll be using this forum more!

We are a small independant agency in Western PA. We have an oppertunity at a $100k policy, but its with Selective Insurance and none of our brokers will touch it since they "can't compete with them". The insured is just having problems with the agent and wants to move his business to me. (We are good drinking buddies too!)

I've tried to contact Selective to get an appointment, but its just their website and no numbers to call to get an appointment. Anyone know of a manager or good sales rep that could help?! Thanks in advance!

I would start with:
Selective - Customer Support

Failing that, go to:
Selective - Customer Support

Call the corporate headquarters and find out who the marketing rep is in your area.

Thanks Dan, I've called before and they said to just fill the form out! I've tried some other agent's I'm good with to have their rep call me, but nothing yet. I might just have to split broker this account with one of them then. Thanks again

Did you fill out the form?
In my experience, if they don't call you back from filling out the form, they are not appointing in your area.

I do tend to fill them out twice (a few days apart). Seems sometimes they are busy and miss the first time. Not to often, but it doesn't hurt.

If you can't get a direct appointment you might check out the Deforest Group (similar to SIAA, Iroquois, etc.). They list Selective as one of their carriers.
