Why Are So Many Agents Lazy?

Isn't lazy subjective? What do you call lazy? Is it the guy that runs 8 20 minute appointments a day or the the guy that runs 2 or 3 2 hour meetings?

I have recently been trying to recruit a local agent to take free DM leads and drive to the areas that I work, about 2 hours away.... as soon as I tell them where I work, I never hear back from them...

That's with Free Leads!

I assume that is just the "S Fl" mentality of doing as little as possible just to float by!

You can thank a combination of a lack of work ethic plus all the 4-Hour Work Week, systemize-your-business garbage that populates the minds of agents, as opposed to old-fashioned hard work and determination.

You need to get the 55+ year olds. The young ones ain't going to do it usually.

Or the might have read about free lead offers all over this forum. How much commish with the free leads?

Most insurance agents act like they work for somebody and do as little as possible. They don not consider themselves to be entrepreneurs.

I agree and don't get it.

Cutting corners, getting away with the minimum to get by if you're flipping burgers with no aspirations for advancement I understand. But the same work ethic if you own the burger stand?

That's just the point. They don't understand they own the burger stand, yet if you were to ask, they are the first to say they are a "proud" owner. Many businesses open and fail for many reasons. Agents fail for many reasons. I would say that work ethics is up there around #1.

Prospecting is without a doubt the hardest part of this business. I think most agents getting into the business just don't understand that part and how important it is. They focus so much on how to make a presentation that they forget they have to find the people to present to.

You can't go to bed every night wondering what you're going to be doing the next day and succeed.
