Got a Xoom for Christmas and am trying to figure it out. I am using gmail and need to know how to add a file attachment that is a .PDF and not a photo or video clip. Anyone using a Xoom or other android tablet?

First, welcome to the cool club.

There are a few different ways you can be accessing your gmail. Are you using the app or are you using a browser and going to gmail.com?

If you're using the app you can download another application called "AndroZip" and when you click "attach" it will give you the option of using AndroZip. Just touch that and then browse the tablet until you find the file you're looking for. (I just checked on my Galaxy Tab to make sure it works that way).

I always use the gmail app just because I think it works better, with that you just hit an attach button under the hardware menu button, it's pretty damned simple.

Are you doing this on the tablet? The tablets are a touch more jacked up than that.

On my bionic (and galaxy before that) it would work fine, but on my Galaxy 10.1 it doesn't work that way. It's possible the xoom is the same way.

Is your 7.1 running honeycomb?

Nah they didn't update the cheapo to honeycomb.

They should be pushing everyone to ice cream sandwich soon also on the honeycomb tablets, they basically declared it dead.

The only people who won't be moved up that had major telecom tablets were people like me on the old first galaxy tab.

Then that is probably the issue. Honeycomb has some drawbacks and this is one of them.
