Your Advice on this T65 Mail Campaign...

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to reach out and ask for your feedback and advice on a campaign that I am thinking of kicking off. To start with a little feedback. I am in the PNW and have a pretty good size Captive P&C book of business I run with my wife and staff. We have recently made the decision that I would 100% branch off and start Health & Medicare.

Starting out I have some advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantage is that I am new and learning the industry from Square 0. Advantages is that nothing I do in this 1st year is dependent on me turning an income for any overhead cost or personal expenses. I have a marketing budget of about $3,000 a month to build this business and want to be as effective as possible. I will also have access to current clients to market to that are T65 or over 66 plus that will be strategy on top of this.

I have done a lot of research this past few weeks on mailing campaigns and it looks like a target campaign of about 500 people mailed out to 6 times leading up to them T65 is a great strategy if you have the $ to fund it and willing to see your results 4-6 months down the road from when you start it. It looks like after 6 months of consistently doing this the result would be about 3,000 mailers every month going out.

I plan on doing this inhouse but have a machine that will fold, stuff, and seal the envelope to help reduce time. I also plan to have my staff help hand address them at least in the first few months or maybe higher a high school kids to come in and help with them after school.

I have a few questions on this:
  1. Is this realistic and would I overload myself with leads (that is a concern of mine)
  2. I understand if they are bulk mailed I could expect about a 1% return average, Is it realistic to expect a 4-5% return if I hand address them. (I also know that the return is delay because the 1st batches are going out 6 months prior to bday)
  3. I understand that a hand addressed envelop will at least get opened even if they toss it with no action. What would you recommend in the trifold mailer?
  4. If you have any resource that could help me decide what to put int he mailers I would appreciate it.
I know this is a long one and I appreciate any feedback. Thank you!

They can do hand addressed letters? What is your take on the strategy and whats a realistic return on 500 a month.

Scott has the ability to imitate hand written envelopes (software), uses a real stamp, and the letter appears to be mailed from your zip.

If you are looking for volume responses, this isn't where you want to put your money. You will not be overwhelmed with tire kickers and folks looking for a free quote.

My close ratio on leads generated by Scott's system is in the 90% range . . . all follow up done by phone and email . . . no F2F meetings.

I am at a point where I don't need volume, just qualified prospects with the interest in what I offer and the money to pay the premium.

One other thing, this is a system based on drip marketing. You won't send out 500 letters and get dozens of calls next week. It might take months before some call. But when they do . . . be prepared to take their order.

It's exactly how Somarco said.

Once you have set it up it just works on auto pilot which is worth its weight in gold IMO.

T65Inbound is a five letter program so by the time you are in month 5 you will be sending out 2500 per month at cost of approx 75c per letter.

You don't chase anyone with this system. They either call or they don't. But the ones that do are pretty much a guaranteed sale.

On 500 you can expect approx 1-2 calls. By the time you get to 2500 a month approx 10 inbound calls. We do 700 per campaign and our results are similar to what I have listed above.

It's a great program and doesn't require much effort.

UKTX/Somarco, good information thanks. Let me know if I am on the right track: 1st month 500 mailed, 2nd month 500 new mailed and 500 second mailing, 3rd month 500 new mailed, 500 second mailed and 500 third mailed, etc.... Until you get to the 5th month when you have 500 mailed for 1st thru 5th, total of 2500. So for month 6 till whenever, you will always have 2500 getting mailed.

I do successive months. Earlier placed an order for Jan & Feb T65. Today an order for Mar T65.

Counting back 6 months (Scott's suggestion), he would mail Jan BD starting in July and continuing through Dec . . . leading up to the Jan BD.

Repeat for Feb, Mar, etc so Aug is the 1st mail for Feb . . . Sep is first mail for Mar

If you are following the suggested schedule, each BD will get 6 DIFFERENT letters (they look the same on the outside, content is different), one every 30 days.

July you mail 500, August 1000 (Jan & Feb BD), Sept 1500 (Jan, Feb, Mar) and so forth.

I think Scott offers a total of 7 or maybe 8 different letters (you pick). You decide how many names you want for each BD month (minimum 300) and how many letters you want to send. I now send 300 and pick 4 letters. More letters to more people will generate more call ins.

As stated, I am not looking for volume, just quality. 300 names, 4 letters gives me the volume I want and holds down the outlay.

I think I started heavy 400 - 500 names, 6 mailings, and have dialed it back a bit as I was pouring ($5,000) into a FB campaign that did not produce. So now scaling back and starting over for 2023 BD's and will pick up the pace gradually in another month.

This is a front loaded lead gen program that works if you allow it to. Some agents make 1 or 2 mailings and give up. Your prospect needs to see your info a least 4x and better to do 5x or 6x.

Once I get through AEP I may increase to 5 mailings and/or may go for more than 300 names.

This is not my main source of lead gen. Other than referrals, I get leads from a monthly newsletter, web presence including FB & YT. These leads are 2nd only to referrals for quality, easy picking.

Hope this helps.

PS
If you are not familiar with drip marketing, this is a very good book to read.

Just realized the Amazon link did not work. Look for this book . . .

Hmmm... I have not heard of T65Inbound and I'm quite intrigued. I've been wanting to develop another source of lead gen and I like the somewhat passive nature of this system.

Thanks for the book recommendation, Somarco.
