S. Christopher Johnson, Chairman of the NAFA Board of Directors, noted, “Chip’s 35 years of industry experience across multiple disciplines, his prominence in the industry and his reputation as a proven leader and annuity advocate, make him perfectly suited to lead NAFA. Johnson continued, “His knowledge of the organization runs deep due to his six-year tenure on the NAFA Board of Directors, serving as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice Chairman and ultimately, Chairman. NAFA couldn’t be better positioned for future success with Chip at the helm of the organization.”

Mr. Anderson’s experience in the industry dates back to 1980 when he began as a Licensed Agent/Registered Representative at Midwestern Financial Group. Later in his career he assumed roles at Jackson National Life as a  Brokerage Manager; Personalized Brokerage Services as Director of Sales and; more recently, as the Senior Vice President – Annuity Sales for CreativeOne in Leawood, Kan.

“With continued industry oversight and the pending impact of the fiduciary standard, NAFA is at a pivotal point in its history as the only advocacy trade association dedicated exclusively to fixed annuity education, regulation and awareness,” commented Mr. Anderson. He continued, “In partnership with marketing organizations, institutional distributors, key insurance company executives, top producing agents, the NAFA staff and NAFA vendor-partners, I am confident we will collectively shape NAFA’s vision for the future while simultaneously tackling the many challenges the annuity marketplace faces.”

Throughout his tenure at leading carriers and distribution organizations, Chip worked tirelessly to lead and develop not-for-profit organizations including NALU/NAIFA, where he served as President (Kansas City Chapter) and as a board member of Missouri Association of Life Leaders.

In addition to Mr. Anderson’s industry experience, he has worked with local organizations in the Kansas City area to promote good will and community service. Mr. Anderson gave his time and leadership to groups including the Leukemia Society, Boy Scouts of America, Ducks Unlimited and Presbyterian Credit Union.

Leading up to his official May 1 start date, Mr. Anderson will work closely with the current NAFA staff to review strategic plans, its growth initiatives and formulate goals for the future.
