2018 Part B Premium

Yup. Noticed that. Picked up United American this week. In Polk, Tampa area they have the lowest plan F now. Lifetime full renewals.
Interesting, what is the price difference? Do you have a rate sheet you can email me when you have the chance?
Not sure medsupps are gonna be a big issue moving forward, I noticed a huge shift toward MAPD this year. Especially with those new giveback plans

Really? That sucks. What's the issue? I don't do any clients that need underwriting.

Give them a little time and they will be the most expensive in your are (just looking at their history). Are you on as earned with them? In the past you couldn't go as earned with them and you had to take an 18 month advance! They used to do the same thing with their FE. It's all designed to keep the agent in debt with them so they'll keep writing. I hope for your sake that has changed.

I recall an open enrollment situation where the app was received on the 28th of the month for an effective date on the 1st. By the time they issued the effective date was set for the 3rd or 4th.

Apparently their computer couldn't "backdate" to before u/w put their stamp of approval on the app. It had to be cancelled and re-written back to the 1st. This was not a glitch, it was a feature.

The commission was laughably low but the VP kept telling me it was great that I could indeed reach a VP to help with issues. Of course, it wouldn't have need him if they were anything but a second rate carrier.

But good luck with them.

Yeah I went as earned. But good to know about their rate history. Might have to use Aetna instead

To Greensky in regards to commission, I usually only get between $210-$240 for a med supp sale. Average with UA will be $350. I'm ok with that! Lol

Not a sheet but here is a t65 female in Polk county.

I have the opposite with med supps. A lot of my MAPD people end up switching over to Med supp, well the ones who are able to afford it. Screenshot.jpg

It's only for Females, Males rates are higher

In answer to the other UA issues I have 4 cases with them on the books for the past 18 months and no client or claims issues other than receipt of the policy documents and ID cards for one client at issue (which was resolved).

Their rates have not gone up in Florida in at least 6 years and just had a 6% decrease making them the lowest for T65 females in most parts of Florida.

Their loss ratio (according to CSG) is very low (in the 60s) so it's doubtful that there will be any rate increases until that changes-I've never submitted an Underwritten app but it's likely they are very strict about approvals and that keeps the loss ratio down.

The lifetime renewals is a huge incentive for me to write more business for them, particularly when they have the lowest rate in the county.
