Aged Leads: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Has anyone here had any experience with buying aged health leads? Someone suggested that I buy some of these (since I'm a fairly new agent) in addition to regular internet leads but I'm on the fence. I've heard horror stories about agents that have bought them then I hear about agents that use them exclusively and do quite well. Any advice on vendors and a system on how to work the leads would be greatly appreciated.

If budget is an issue, and you need some practice, and have thick skin . . . aged leads can be just what you need.

it means they have grown up to become adults! If they hang around long enough they will be called senior leads.

Ah, "senior" leads are my favorite. I want them at least 12 to 18 months old when I can find them.

I would have to say that the "grown up" ones are the ones I like the best, around 24 to 36 months old. They are the ones that prove to be the most productive for me. Unfortunately the only place I can find them is usually in my prospects database.

Anyone know where I can buy some?

I ran senior leads that I had in my file cabnet from 3 years ago. Wrote $190 in F.E premium, and 2 med supps

Frank, what states do you sell in?

I believe I'm licensed in about twelve different states. I occasionally write in other states (FL, CO, NE, TX, IL), but all seniors in Missouri don't have a Med Supp with me yet. Until then my main emphasis will be MO.

I have over 2,700 people in my prospects database. I have the name of the company, for the majority of them, that they had their insurance with when I initially contacted them. I'm simply waiting for the company to have another premium increase. When they do it's like taking candy from a baby.

I love premium increases. Without them selling Med Supps would suck.

[FONT='Times New Roman','serif']I am part of a lead consortium which is a company dedicated to driving down the cost of leads to the agent community. We are founded by Insurance Agents that are tired of being bullied by the big "Lead Companies".

We use our Consortium (Group) buying power to get bulk pricing from 40 major lead companies without sacrificing quality. We have leads in all verticals of insurance, Health, Life, P & C, Uninsurable, Senior Health etc.

Send me an email with the following information
How many leads you are currently purchasing per month?
What type of leads are you buying?
What are you currently paying?

Based on this information I would be able to tell you how much money we can save and get you qualified into our buying program.

If you are tired of getting ripped off for leads, it only takes a second of your time to send the information and find out how much you can save.

I (personally) and at least six of my agents have been "ripped off" by Leads Consortium.

The started off trying to do the right thing but . . .

1: They didn't honor their return policy.
2: They didn't honor their word regarding leads.
3: They offered to credit the funds (already paid to them) from health leads to senior leads BUT for $10 a pop, much higher than everywhere else and more than they were charging for us for underage/health.
4: They sent leads to some black hole, agent never got em, but they charged me while it was their screw up. I personally ate close to $1000 (still unresolved).
5: Customer service was terrible, arguments even ensued (between my agents and them) and they said "no other agents ever complain" ha, now that's comedy.

It's also rumored that Andy Ross has some affiliation with them, can anyone confirm or deny?

I know the lead game, since 2002 or so, and we also happen to be speaking about some of my top performers, who track ROI, only return what should be returned, etc. These are not agents just griping, in fact our experience with them was the worst by far of all lead vendors we deal with and that includes most or all you know and love (to hate). Those that normally close 15% to or so were closing 1% off of these leads.

In fairness, maybe they got their act together since 2010.
