I received a call from a Medicare Beneficiary (dont know how she got my number), she was asking me about how she can get a certain form from her Medicare Plan to take to the doctor). I asked her did she have an agent and she thinks she called into that company to enroll in the plan. She would like me to be her agent of record, How would I handle this change and would I be due renewals on her plan ?

Thanks

All of this will depend on the company. Some companies would allow you to be AOR and not pay, some will pay. There may even be some that won't let you be AOR....which is super-stupid!

I"m assuming its Madp. Does Medicare supplement allow aor's?Only one of the main mapd co's allows aor changes . WellCare . Anthem did until Feb 1st and stopped. If your in a big city just do a plan change within the company if you have a better plan.

Is the Anthem MAPD in your area a Blue X Blue Shield plan? Amerigroup? There is currently a statewide lock that is extended to the remainder of OEP. After that, a plan change will effectively change the AOR. They haven't mentioned the written member letter which WAS the way that Amerigroup had it for the past 2 years. I am dizzy trying to keep up with them. It is getting harder to retain membership with the Amerigroup plan here in Texas.
