Any Good Clusters In New York

This is my first time looking into Joining a cluster. I am now looking into SIAA and Smart Choice. Is there anyone else I should look at. I spoke to the people at Iroquois insurance and the person I spoke with was just rude and did not want to give me any access to basically any carriers. Does anyone have any ideas. Maybe Superior or Insurance Noodle, or Agent Secure?

I am not with any of these so my answer is just an opinion from things I have heard from friends who are with them. I would probably stick with either SIAA or smart choice per the reviews. I would try to find agents in your area that are with them and give them a call to see the experiences they have had. Good luck.

Hello Chad if you scroll down on from your post you will find a group discussing all the different clusters out there, the pros and cons.

Chad where in NY are you located ?

SIAA is good but can be expensive to sign with. They also have some requirments that I didn't find necessary. I would still reach out to them and see what they have to say.

You could also look to find another indy agent in your area that will allow you to write business through them untill you can get your own appointments.

I am in Staten Island. Thank you both for your responses. Now I have to do my homework. I did narrow it down to 2. SIAA and Smart Choice. Is there anyone else? I just dont want to make a decision and be stuck with it. For instance the 2 year non-compete, and things of that nature get me a bit worried that i will regret any decision I make. So, I will call both and speak to them directly. What should I look out for? What questions should I ask when I do speak to their reps. Did you have any bad experiences, or regrets when you chose a company? Huh, maybe I am worrying too much and should just pull the trigger.

for ny, i believe both siaa and smart choice is not going to put on a new agent contract. this was in 2012 when i contacted them both.

agent secure has a free trial period for you to test out their rater and system
same with noodle i believe.

Iroquois will contact you 2 yrs later to see if you want to join them after they rudely talk to you first.

Depends where in NY. In the 5 boroughs then yes but in the suburbs it might be a different case.

I talked with a few smart choice agents in nj, and they were happy. I don't know about NY. If you have very little experience in P&C I find smart choice the friendlest. siaa has to many requirments. Superior Acess, has had some compliants on getting policies issued, agent secure, wants some experience. check out agentequity.com , IDC is going to start writing in NY, they advertise on there.

I can recommend SAN Group (SIAA). I've attended their annual agent's meeting and worked closely with several of their member agents. They all liked the group and thought it added value to their agency.
