Any Recommendations for a Good Computer-based Dialer?

Re: Any Recommendations for a Good Computer-based Dailer?

Computer based or web based?

I've always been interested in a computer based dialer where I could just hook it up to the phone line and be done with it. Flat rate, uses my long distance, etc.

If you wanted to do that, you could:

A. Buy a preinstalled vicidial box and configure it yourself or just dial off lists. Costs like 1000$, they're good for up to about 30 agents.

B. go buy a 150 dollar computer, or find one at a yard sale, needs to be about a pentium 4, then put in a good harddrive, 80gig raptor 10,000 rpm is about what you need, total cost of around 200$. Go download vicidial or vicibox, or one of the many variants that installs linux and vicidial for you, and use that. Cost of about 200$ and some time. I would further recommend getting a professional to set the box up for you, the trunking and phone setup is a little tricky.

I think that Mojo is the perfect balance. If you like it (or are into the whole techy thing) then you should go for what ksigmtsu suggests.

"free" dialing. Still need to pay the termination charges, but they're cheap enough.

I don't like callfire because I think they are expensive. If you can't cover $150 for a dialer/month, probably just not a good fit.
