She can't afford $100 a month . Is there any pharmaceutical help or programs she could apply for ?

Beg the prescribing doc for free samples, or, get the generic from Canada. As an example, Northwest Pharmacy sells Rivaroxaban, 2.5 mg for $85. No generic in US.

Ask the physician for a xarelto rebate card. I had one for my mom. She paid regular price, mailed in a request for rebate, and received her xarelto for $15/month

Anytime this happens with my clients I Google it. In this case, "Xarelto manufacturer". Then I go to the website and see what they offer for those on Medicare. I believe I was able to get a client assistance on this drug directly thru the manufacturer.

It says they don't help if you have Medicare.

Do you pay more than $85 monthly out of pocket for your prescription of XARELTO®? Janssen Select may be able to help.
At Janssen, we know that it can be hard to stay on treatment when your out-of-pocket costs increase during a coverage gap (eg, commercial high deductibles or the Medicare Part D coverage gap, formerly known as the "Donut hole"). That's why we've created Janssen Select.

Through Janssen Select you can:

  • Pay $85, plus sales tax if applicable, for a 30-day (1-month) supply of XARELTO®.
  • Or, beginning August 16, 2021, pay $240 for a 90-day (3-month) supply of XARELTO® ($80 per month), plus sales tax if applicable, if you and your doctor choose a 90-day supply.
  • Participate without paying a membership fee or sharing your income information.
  • Register beginning April 1 and get refills through December 31, and you can discontinue anytime.
At Janssen, we believe that cost shouldn't prevent you from staying on the treatment you need, uninterrupted. Terms expire at the end of each calendar year and may change. See program requirements at JanssenSelect.com.

To register, you must have insurance covering a portion of the cost of XARELTO®, and you are being asked to pay more than $85 monthly for XARELTO® through your insurance.

My bad, I must have clicked on the wrong button. I have seen programs that wouldn't pay in addition to Part D.

Good link. I find out in the morning if my wife will start taking Xarelto. It's the 1st fill that's going to hurt, since it's Tier 3 and has a deductible. It might even push her into the Donut Hole next year.
