Attained Age Vs Issue Age in Indiana

When you have issue age plan you have on for age for changes in medicare.....I think your omitting something not intentionall. Also, what state are you in

You should quote who you are replying to and also spell check before you post. It's very hard to understand what you are saying or who you are talkin to.

To all of you :I apologize for the mistype. You are right, both of you. What I was trying to say is based on what the government said with the word CAUTION in 2002 and 2003. That attained age while starting out lower will become the most expensive of all. Later editions it is not as strongly presented. Do I ever see a need for an issue age plan, to be fair yes.

I am quite sure with the insurance plans you sell, you don't always sell the cheapest plan out there or do you?

Not one of you has addressed the issue of why some states have made them illegal?

Made what illegal? Maybe I missed something, when did we start talking about whether something was legal or not?

As long as I know who the least expensive carrier is, that is the carrier I present to the prospective client. I have never intentionally sold a client a Med Supp that I knew they could get cheaper elsewhere with the exception of those who are sold on a specific carrier (i.e. - Blue Cross or AARP). Medicare Supplements are a commodity. There's no reason to sell a higher priced plan unless you're only thinking of yourself for the commission. Just my opinion.

Lastly, you are still sticking to the claim that attained age plans WILL become the most expensive. That's impossible for ANYONE to predict. Furthermore, for the reasonably healthy client, we just simply switch them to a lower cost carrier if rates get out of hand. Again, can't predict health, nor can we predict what rate increases from carriers will be. But if my client is starting out 40%+ cheaper than yours and you're getting 7-9% rate increases, it's going to be quite some time, if ever, where your rate is cheaper than mine.

One thing I've noticed when "competing" with PMIC. They sell "sizzle." Little substance. It's sizzle disguised as research. Pulling out a 2003 choosing a medigap and reading one out of date warning - that's just sizzle. "Illegal in some states" - that's just sizzle.

I guarantee: Take a good broker's Med Supp client(s) on any Med Supp plan and throw their premiums into an excel spread sheet. Add the past premiums for a total. Then, take a PMIC's client(s) (same UW category) and throw their premiums into an excel spread sheet. Add their premiums up for a total.

It'll be a landslide in favor of the broker... Agree?
