Bcbs wait time

Have you gotten a notice on delayed over 65? Or is it just "where the heck is statement?"

No notice, unless it was buried in one of the many many communiques they sent out to us this week. Didn't get the over-65 e-mail notification from BCBS-IL in the usual 13th-14th timeframe and there's no statement in the agent area.

Several system fixes were scheduled for this weekend, plus Blue Cross implemented a really nutty online process for applicants to track their application status. This would have been useful before 2014, but now that people can't be turned down and are approved within 24 hours..what's the point? Apparently a rogue out-of-touch executive is someplace in the fold.

April 1, 2014 (BCBS-IL)

1. Hold time today 1hour & 20minutes.
2. BCBS told client that I completed his app incorrectly, which is why he still hasn't been approved. Lying dogs. It was input online. Told him they'll correct my mistake on their end.
3. BCBS not only deducted two months premium from a new client's checking account, but two months of Government Subsidy amounts from her account as well...plus a few more hundred dollars for good measure. Over $2,000 drafted in 4 transactions between 3/10 and 3/30. Good thing it's a business with funds available. BC is clueless as to how this occurred.

End of rant for today. Over and out...

April 17, 2014

I think they (bcbs-il) laid off most employees who are not essential for paying claims when official Open Enrollment ended. On-hold times are still well over an hour for customers and agents. Premium mode change forms over 30 days behind..commissions late this month..jeeez.

I suspect a lot of layoffs occurred around 3/31. Our new guy (mattvick?) says HC.flub call centers handed out a bunch of pink slips a few weeks ago.

Working Obamacare is a part time job. Too bad agents can't claim unemployment comp until next January.

That is the link for more information about the reduction in force for the marketplace. We will be handed our severance paperwork tomorrow afternoon.

Can't say everyone didn't see it coming...

Local carriers hired a ton of CSR's during OEP, some have 10-20x the workforce now that they did over summer. Guarantee most of them are gone by May.

Small little blurb added to the agent area of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois - Health Insurance Illinois - BCBSIL today...

"March Commissions Set for April 22 Release

Article Date:04/17/2014
Producers should expect to receive April payment for their March Commissions on or after April 22, 2014."

The communication regarding the late release of January commissions said "between the 18th to 20th of February". Today's uses the ominous wording "on or after April 22nd". No explanation..no apology this time.

Either the government still has yet to send subsidy $$$ to carriers, or the BCBS-IL system is becoming more screwed up...or both. We're going backwards.

Same thing happening in TEXAS?

I haven't gotten anything official for Texas. However, I had to call PSC on something else today and I did ask. They are being "released" on the 22nd. Just like the Medicare was "released" on the 15th. So plan on the 25th for the direct deposit. BUT, she also said that we were going to get paid the subsidy commission, if they show us as Exchange certified.

I will believe it when I see it.

Just another reason I want UHC to be in the indy market for 2015. The commission payments and schedule.

Lucky you don't work for the agency I WAS under in sw florida, they still havent been paid aep money LOL
