Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you could please recommend the best phone system, fax, call recording for me in my home office?

How about RingCentral, Phone.com, Nextiva, vocalocity, etc?

What are you happy with?

Thanks!

That really depends on a lot of factors. What is most important to you?

1. Voice Quality
2. Cost
3. No contract
4. Call recording
5. Easy to install

It's just me for now staring out so no employees, just needing something easy and no expensive with no contracts. I ve been reading that Nextiva and Vocalocity are the best. Any experience with those or another voip?

Thanks

The call recording is where it is gona sort of go off the rails.

I use an asterisk PBX that I self-administer which requires some technology and some expertise so it may not be a good solution for everyone, but it certainly kills the "easy to install" qualification.

I know folks like Vocalocity, so if that fits the bill you may just want to go with that. I think RingCentral is overpriced for what it is, but they do a lot of marketing and have a good product so there is something to be said for that.

I resell or have resold most of your choices. By far Velocity is a better choice. Cost however is not much savings from AT&T or your local phone co. About $40/mo for their best package and features + another $5 for any IVR attendant. Plus you will need to go with a Fax Service for another $10/mo.

I, like Josh, administer my own Asterisk system and PBX. We have all our agents on it and it works great. The cost ends up lower ($30/mo for a phone and fax line), because most of the agents spend a great deal of time calling their manager or our offices using just an ext to ext call and no bill.

Good luck to you.

Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.

I will probably go with Velocity then. They said it will be $65 mo for unlimited calls, fax, and 15 hrs call recording.

They said I need to buy a cisco phone from Amazon for $80. Do I need a router too?

We've been using 8x8 and their service has been pretty good. We pay maybe $90 a month for 2 VOIP phones with virtual fax as well. You can specify ring groups, ring paths etc...

I wouldn't get a cisco phone, I just bought a yealink sip t22p (I think) and it's a great phone. Cisco can be a little trixy to setup because they have some proprietary software they feel snazzy about.

I've used Ring Central in the past and they give a lot of bang for the buck and have a mobile app.

We had a horrible experience with Nextiva. Had to drop them after a month. With Jive Communications now. So far so good. $85/more for two
Iines.
