Best Type of Plan for My Situation

I am leaving my current employet and taking time off before beginning with another employer [4-8 months off]. I'll be traveling around the SW USA and will be hiking and rock climbing...activities that could result in injury. I'm looking for a catastrophic type plan as I'm 30 and in good physical condition. Is indemnity the best?

No way in hell I would buy a STM.

Bite the bullet and do COBRA so you could at least go HIPAA if you break your neck.

And if you can't afford the COBRA premium, then you can't afford to take 4-8 months off.
