If you'd like helpful answers, you may want to be more specific as to what type of business. One for a life producer is going to be a good bit different than for a P&C agency.

I'm gonna disagree with you to a degree. Although it would change the content, the format wouldn't necessarily be any different. Business plans are a great way of formally thinking through your strategies.
I've always found good luck looking for different templates online and just digging at it. Most of the value in the business plan isn't necessarily the finished product as much as it is the process and uncovering strengths and weaknesses to help you be more successful.
More agents should use them.

I'm more concerned about the content than the format. I would hope the OP is as well. I of course retract that statement if he wants it to use with banks, investors, carriers, etc. Then obviously it does have to fit the format they are accustomed to seeing.

Sorry. For P&C. Going to be working out of home. Leaving SF and starting my own up. I have that quote on my desk.
