That's a question in all my yrs I've never seen . That's because so few agents are contracted direct why leave outside better comp . But yes the carrier would have to release you . The carrier would be giving up 30% override letting you go under an fmo

I saw it several times. Usually with SNL. Hard to get them to release too.

I was direct with SNL at 115% . Few fmo's gave that as most told me they were at 125-130% with them

All of our agents were at 115% with them. We had a larger contract.

It depends on the carrier and the product. You don't always have to be released. Can you give some more details?
