CIC or CLCS?

Depends on your current knowledge level and what you want to do with the information. I think you'd find CLCS to be very basic, but if it's early in your career, that might be appropriate. You will likely learn more practical application from CIC, especially if you do it in person. The ultimate P&C designation continues to be CPCU for the breadth and depth of industry knowledge. If you're experienced, you might be ready for CPCU; otherwise, try one of the other programs. The Institutes (which oversee CPCU) also have a number of other programs geared towards agents, underwriter, adjusters, etc.
