We have two announcementstoday.



1. Please find attached a newMarketplace FAQ document, which explains very important information aboutMedicare and Marketplace enrollment. Please review this FAQ carefully.



2. We wanted to provideadditional information about completing Marketplace enrollment forms under theside-by-side, or “Marketplace pathway.”



As we relayed in our9-30-2013 email, in the side-by-side pathway:

The agent/broker should work with the consumer to make sure thatthe consumer enters the agent’s/broker’s identifying information, includingNational Producer Number (NPN), so that the FFM can associate thetransaction with the agent/broker so that an issuer may facilitatecompensation. When the consumer is logged in to the healthcare.gov page, theconsumer will be shown a screen labeled, “Help applying for coverage.” On thisscreen, it is vital that the consumer enters the agent’s/broker’s name, NPN,and FFM User ID (if the agent/broker has an FFM User ID). Accurate entry of theagent’s/broker’s information on that screen will enable an issuer to facilitatecompensation.



Today, we are adding thefollowing clarifying information:

The NPN that is included within the consumer's application will betransmitted to issuers, and that NPN may be used by issuers for compensationpurposes. If an agent/broker works for an employer/company that also has itsown NPN, the agent’s/broker’s employer/company should work with each issuer todetermine which NPN should be submitted, to ensure proper compensation.
