Cold Calling is powerful

Idk why you guys are so concerned with DNC you really think someones going to go out of their way to call a lawyer, and then track you down, and send you a beating? Lol

My business model involves no contracts. I have people that buy lists from me month after month for years. Apparently they didn't get the memo it doesn't work.
Lol literally, so many deadbeats talking about how its a dead method, and then they wonder why they cant close not even facebook leads or shared leads xDD

Like those are the DEFINITION of a HOT lead, yet they get scared when someone says 'I didn't sign up for anything' xD

I have always preferred cold doors to cold calls. That being said, I did run a multidialer until October 2019. I gave it up at the end of that month as my contact ratio had fallen to almost zero in about three months time.

I can go knock doors and speak to more people in 30 minutes than I will four hours on the phone.

If you're calling from a captive firm that has the firm's name on the Caller ID... and 5-6 of the agents are all doing the same thing (Ha!)... then it can be an issue for the company.

That's why the captive companies have phones that automatically screen for DNC and an internal DNC list.

Call from your own phone and represent yourself. We shouldn't have any problems. Even if we did... did we really 'harass' them continually?

"I apologize. I'll update my records immediately. Thank you for your time." is all we need to say.

Normally, I despise that kind of notion about "bending the rules here and there". I often think that it reflects poorly on the character of the person bending those rules.

However, considering all the scam calls (IRS scam, Social Security scam, auto warranty scams)... why do they get to robo-dial everyone and profit... and I can't?

At least I'm:
- A real human being
- Have something unique to talk about
- Conduct myself as an adult
- Courteous that if someone wants to just hang up, they win. No problem.

I use Josh's lead program. When I ran my recent list WITH DNC screening, I had about 4,400 households that I would be "allowed" to contact.

When I took off the DNC screening... I had 10x that to over 44,000 households in the same areas.

So yeah... I may be rationalizing it... but I really doubt I'd get into any serious trouble.

After 20,000 customers and about 10 years of doing this, I have been subpoenaed twice. Both times the total number of calls exceeded millions per month.

If anyone is really curious, I'd suggest reading the actual TCPA law (47 U.S. Code § 227 - Restrictions on use of telephone equipment).

There absolutely are professional litigants, but they also want a better case than "I got a call one time from someone who was polite". It's not worth their time. On the other hand, a call center that keeps calling the same numbers after being told to stop calling? Yeah, that one is a lot easier for a plaintiff. Imagine 12 people (a jury) were hearing the story, at face value, 12 people have a hard time wanting to throw a guy trying to earn a buck under the bus; a faceless corporation that is relentlessly making millions of unwanted calls per month? A group of 12 can easily hate that... those are cases litigants love :)

Most, if not all, are calling from out of the country, bro. Beyond the reach of the FTC, FCC, etc.
