Hi,
Hoping that someone can tell me if there are guidelines on when children must leave a parent's policy and establish their own. We have a college age daughter who is nearing the end of her bachelor's degree, and will likely be moving to take a new job. She will be about an hour away, but it is in a neighboring state.
She has had internships and assignments that have had her living on her own a couple times, but just for a few months at a time. This will be a more continual thing, but since she may return to graduate school, I hesitate to say that it is permanent. Are there any rules or guidelines that would determine whether she can stay on our auto insurance, or will she need to start her own coverage with the new residence.
Thanks in advance for any advice or info you can offer.
