Compulife Quote Engine

I guess I'll chime in here since my website is being used as an example.

Scottstreet - You need to purchase the Consumer ID with your website quotes to get email/phone etc.

Rich Eddy/Crabcake - If you want full customization of quote screen, quote results, app request and thank you pages - you need to buy the internet quote engine for $995/year and pay a designer to customize it the way you want and then pay a developer to code it on your site. That's what I did.

Obviously it doesn't make sense for 99% of agents to spend that much on a quote engine for a website unless they're serious marketers.

Rich - The reason you're not getting recommendations is no one (me included) wants to release their developers name for several reasons. My reason is I have him working on several projects at a time (I share him with a couple of my successful online agents) and wish he could devote more time to me. It took me a while to find a competent and affordable guy. I'll bet the same goes with everyone else. Be prepared to spend a minimum of $35/hr. I've paid up to $75/hr. Ask around on elance.com - I'll bet you'll find someone.

Jeff, no, I get what you are saying. I think my comment was more or less directed at Robert Barney. I understand that you (or any agent) wouldn't want to share your developer. But Compulife is Robert's product and I'd think he would be quick to have a recommendation and be more clear about the answers to people's questions. Seems as though his sales would increase, but what do I know.

And yes, I agree it might not make sense for 99% of agents, but for those who are asking, why not share the specifics of what they are up against?

($35/hr. Is pretty cheap for a decent developer. I have an IT background and most of the old friends from school that I know who do freelance work are more expensive for stuff like this.)

Bob, can the compulife quote tool be modified to require a email address? It would seem that might be useful if used on a landing page. TIA, Jim

Jim,

Here is the sample page with the request for the consumer info, BEFORE they are permitted to run a quote.

Life Insurance Quotes

That option is an extra $50 per year.

If you have any skill with php code, you can write your own variation and use your email server, rather than ours.

It would be nice to have another option other than an iframe embed - which does not play nicely with Wordpress. Although I make a bit of side dough helping agents integrate Compulife with Wordpress who are about to throw their computers out the window in frustration.

I had a guy using Wordpress the other day, who was having trouble with Wordpress cutting off part of the page that we gave him to integrate into the page he was working on (the "compare now" button missing. He discovered that by removing comment references in his code, our page integrated just fine.

Having said that, Wordpress does appear to give more than one person a headache when it comes to imbedding our .html.

Rich, I wasn't aware of other ways to embed a quote box, how else can one put a quote box on a page (other than iframe) ?

It really depends on what you want to do. Using an iframe simply displays someone else's content on your website. When you embed a quote box, the results of the quote box process have to be displayed somewhere, typically in the iframe area or in a new window. This isn't an elegant solution for a few reasons (you have to predefine the size of the iframe area, it's not "your" content, etc.).

You could, for example, use something like Zoho, Google Forms, MailChimp, etc. to embed a data collection form on your website via an iframe to gather data for a mailing list. Another way would be to actually code the form in html and put that on your website. The second way has the advantage of allowing you to have the form do whatever you want it to do. The downside is that you have to code it to whatever it is you want it to do.

Sorry if my post isn't all that clear, I am on the tail end of my Hawaii trip so I am in "fun mode" until next week!
