My issue is I don't know anything about this stuff

I usually buy at best buy and they don't really know about this stuff, But I need the right set up

Every time I buy I have not been everything I wanted and the last time they talked me into buying this computer that is all one piece no tower saying its better then the ones that have towers

It wasn't cheap around $1200 the top icor or whatever that is

But this thing I think is dying already just over a year later, unless there is some other internet issue I don't know
I bought extra ram and I have the highest level of internet

But my upload speed is only like 50 and I sometimes get screen go out saying there is not enough memory
I get this crackling sound on my head set from time to time I run a scan and its goes away for a little while and then comes back

and sometimes the sound goes in and out on my voice when on the dialer

I need to know what to buy or who to hire to help me get the right set up

Do I need additional special routers or something?

Think I am going to buy this what else do I need?

Buying anything from Best Buy is a mistake. Buy from Amazon. You'll get more for less.

The first one on the list has 32 GB RAM instead of 16 GB and is $200 less.

Read the reviews.

Also check out HP and Acer with comparable features.

I agree that a tower is the way to go. You're on the right track.

Make sure your router and modem are compatible with your ISP and are up to date. I find that I have to replace mine every two or three years just to keep up with my ISP's speed. There are modem/router combinations now.

Visit Reddit's computer forum. Lots of advice there.

I've had a Dell all in one for several years (I7, 16gb ram) and have not had any real performance issues.

This sounds like an internet issue over a computer issue but one thing to look for is if you have a bunch of programs running in the background, it can drastically slow your computer's speed.

Go through your programs and uninstall everything you don't need and disable from startup most of the other ones.

I would also follow @adjusterjack 's advice and get the most up to date modem available from your provider. That should drastically improve your upload speed and phone connection (assuming VOIP).

No way I'd buy a new computer if I had one as new as yours.

A new router is always a good suggestion every 18 to 24 months.

Check your Internet Speeds here: [EXTERNAL LINK] - Internet Speed Test - Measure Network Performance | Cloudflare
[And its more than just the upload / download]

and Which Anti Virus programs are you using?
I might also suggest you pull up all of the programs running on your computer and remove all the bloatware... Go to Add / Remove Programs and sort by Date Installed.

Yup actually found someone to help me

Found that the Norton that got downloaded when updating adobe was messing with things and another program that came with computer

even though I uninstalled Norton it had to be uninstalled several more times in different places

So far there seems to be a big different so we will see

Maybe that was the issue the whole time

Ahh at least one of the sound issues has come back, the on and off cracking I am getting

Sorry dude. Yep that antivirus program is known to be HUGE pain in the you know what. It might be great at antivirus - but my guess is that its because it bogs down your machine so it cant do anything else.

It can also be really hard to fully [and finally] remove it.

What headset are you using?

Sennheiser

I called headsets .com they did a bunch of test and even replaced the headset

it is intermittent I get some crackling on my end only the client cannot hear it

I put the antivirus on and it clears it up and comes back a while later, usually every 45 min to 2 hours

Increase your computer volume to 100% and then decrease the volume manually on the headset. Sometimes that will fix the issue.

Alternatively, assuming it's not a wired headset, you can reset it and sometimes that help.

Otherwise, this may be back to a spotty internet connection (which you detailed previously). If your desktop is hardwired, you should look into a new modem. If not, then start with a new router before getting a new modem.

Routers become obsolete a lot faster than modems.
