Hello,

If you are just starting out, which carriers pay advanced commission if you are writing a policy on yourself, wife, kids, father and mother in law? I heard Mutual of Omaha does, I know in the last a lot of agents did shady stuff and now most do as earned for controlled. But any insight on which carriers do would be appreciated

:twitchy:You might want to check out Walmart.

slightly off topic.. but another agent told me it's frowned upon to write business on yourself... is that true?

If it is, it is with your upline. They would be the problem. Now, that assumes you need the insurance, can pay for the insurance and do not ask for advance. I have written myself and family for many years.

Now, if you have an upline that is telling you to write your family or worse yet, they are writing you and your family. Run! Then lapse all of the policies on them.
