Conversion Rate for Internet Leads

Not looking to start a debate on the virtues or lack thereof of internet lead companies--but I am interested in knowing if anyone would share your percentage of purchased internet life leads that convert to sales.

It would be helpful to know if the percentage is based upon more or less than 100 leads.

Not sure on the accuracy, but I got this on one of the IHIAA webinars:

Shared leads-1 out of 20
Exclusive-1 out of 6
Live Transfers-1 out of 5

I've heard the conversion rate on aged leads is 1 out of 50, but cannot confirm it.

All these are the average.
 
Call the leads what you want (MY names would be 4 letters ones)

However, those results are close, but definitely overstated 20 to 30%. The ones shown are not for the average producer under 6 years experience.

If you used actual leads, instead of curiosity seekers, and those that just expect information, you would see closing jumping to 60% to over 90% for pros.

For that you have to know exactly how to develop your own system. Surprisingly the lead costs for your own, are very favorable.

most comapnies that sell leads are a rip off! Exclusive leads is when you are the 3rd or 4th person to call that lead. Generate your own leads. Marketing in your own area ,put out a lot of marketing materials, where a lot of prospects gather. Put out business card holders with professional looking business cards and other materials. Generating local leads by getting the word out about your company. Remember when markeitn insurance your oprices are no lower than your competitors, regulated by states and find a way to differentiate yourself from your many competitors or you will not last long in this. 20 years of experience-first 5 years made a lot of mistakes and learned well from past. Now I got over 40% of my new business from customer referrals last year. That % will go down since i have got traction on internet now. Good Luck

Conversion rate is everything! no conversion no money. Get expert advice from professionals who have a solid trackrecord. Remember time is money and money is time never enough of either. I t has taken me 20 years to get into top 5%. You will have a lot less competition in near future.

generate your own internet leads and then track all your activity on your website, everything changes in seconds on the internet and you have to constantly make changes to get better results.

Your conversion rate from prospect to paying customer is obviously critical to sales number. First & most importantly is what is the source of your leads. Internet generated leads by your efforts are usually the best type. They are exclusive, prospectects are motivated for some reason to take time to get information off of internet. Remember professional know when marketing on internet emotions of the prospects have to be used to help close sales & improve conversion rates. Buying leadf is a high risk business if you do not know for certain source of lead or prospect list.

I go with customer referrals 40% of my large customer base and a steady flow of leads or prospects I generate through the internet without buying any from anyone.!

Ihave spent in past years thousands of dollars monthly for leads with a lousy ROI, so I dropped that approach.

Right now if you are selling health insurance or want to get into it now, it is the worst time to do so in 40 years. Be creative, innovative and use some out of the box thinking
to get results

Over 50% of present and past competition of those selling health are gone now or will be gone soon. The surviviors will have a bigger share of potential business if they do business in a differnt way than the past. Youhave to sell more policies to get same income, with commission being reduced and announced very soon by insurance companies.
Good Luck I got to go. I have been working 80 hour weeks and cannot catch up with things needed done.

Remember the more time effort and resources put into anything, the more results you will likely get in the future. This business is quickly separating the Pro's from the amateus.
 
the problem with internet leads is that there are so many boiler rooms and call centers driving these people crazy it makes it very difficult to have a good conversation. The 'agent' from these boilers rooms will say anything to make a sale-the latest line of crap is that there are new plans that provide group benefits with almost guaranteed issue but you have to sign up now before it's taken off the market. I'm guessing most of the 'agents' in these places have no license, it would be interesting to find out.
 
Dont blame the call centers, many have closed down or switched to mini med sales, or lol GI LIFE Jest Issue plans....
 
The feedback I have had heard back from agents who regularly order aged internet insurance leads is that they average a couple of sales per 100 leads. Follow up is essential.

Alston posted the following in another thread:

"The best advise for working leads I can think of is to keep working them after the other agents have stopped.

Call when they are new. Mail them something. Email them something. Call when they get it. Call next week. Send them an email. Call again.

Keep calling, emailing and snail mailing until they either buy or tell you to jump in a lake. Be polite and professional, but don't take maybe for an answer.

I would not be in business if we only depended on those who buy within one month of requesting information".
