Cost Per Click

Once people stop using the portals we will see PPC cost drop.
If by portals you mean lead gen sites like Vimo & GoHealth I 100% disagree.

On average they're paying a much lower price per click since they usually maintain amazing quality scores. High keyword relevance, high click through rates, keyword targeted & segmented ad groups, with low bounce rates lead to a great quality score and the better the quality score the lower you can pay-per-click.

My point being, people doing the opposite (aka BAD SEARCH MARKETERS) are driving up the average price per click and since there will always be bad marketers if you want to pay less you need to improve your quality score (per keyword) or find virgin land to advertise on.

You make a valid point. If a site is generating more volume
on PPC they will have higher ranking even if the cost is lower than the highest bid. That is fact.

I am referring to people using the lead generation sites.
People do not want to be called by 5 agents.

So if you take the lead sites out of the equation the price on PPC drops. Do a google search on the health insurance term and atleast 10 sponsored links are lead generatorson each page.

That's the only thing that bothers me as well.

Hello Mister Doe,

I'm just calling in response to your recent health insurance inquiry on our website www.XxXxX.com.
[Mister Doe cuts off]
This is the fifth damn call I've received today! CLICK!!!

:skeptical: That happens maybe 5% of the time.

expensive results is all I can say about PPC

I am sorry, but I do not think that is a fair statement. PPC, when done the right way, can actually be very profitable. Possibly more than internet leads in terms of ROI.

The search engines will need to get wise about the lead companies at some point. The search engine giants will realize people end up being ticked off and bitter about the process that led to 20 people calling 3 times a day each and factor that into their quality ranking. The fact that lead companies are expanding their coverage to every possible industry should only strengthen this. More and more peole will be comparing their experience with getting a human virus.

Their is also the possibility FTC waking up and realizing their is a virtually unregulated industry rapidly expanding that relies on deception for both the information collection side and sale to agent side of its business as. They recently hammered freecreditreport.com, so they could be onto lead co's next.
