Desktop Sharing

I receieved a message from my Humana Rep today in regards to the DOI in my state (Missouri) cracking down on brokers using desktop sharing when working with clients among other things.

It appears some unethical agents are e-signing apps for clients without them verifying the information. The email stated that they may be randomingly reviewing the IP addresses of some submitted apps.

Have any of you heard anything about this?

Some carriers (GR comes to mind) prohibit (in very strong language) the agent from completing the app all the way through.

I understand their concern but also have to wonder. H1 (and a few others) do phone verification on all apps.

If they are really concerned they should email an app to the client while they are conducting the interview.

I did hear Humana tracks your ip on eapps. If you give the client control of the mouse whose ip would show up?

You absolutely cannot turn over desktop control to have your clients sign through any carrier.

If you want to do a broker assisted app you need to log into your broker site and complete the app until your client is sent the link to sign.

If anyone is saying you're allowed to turn over control to sign the app they are greatly mistaken.

I have said this before, but admit, I don't know the real answer. What is the real security in desktop sharing?

I am comfortable doing a sales preso, but when it comes to an application, I don't feel comfortable typing in SS numbers, etc. while on desktop share.

I do that via phone and send for esig.

There seems to be many people that can support desktop share. What are the most reliable companies?

Late,
