Fair Booth Giveaways - Ideas?

Hey everyone

We have a local county fair coming up in a small town in which I work out of. I'm the new insurance guy in town, the town and surrounding communities don't really know that we have an office there either.

I'm wondering what ideas you might have or things that you have done in the past as giveaways? Something to hopefully generate some leads, but more to get people to the booth so they I can meet them, and let them know we have an insurance office in town.

Thoughts? Input?

The first thing that came to mind was a free Child ID Safety Kit. The fraternal companies use them and it's probably the best of their fraternal freebies.

I saw several just by googling it. Might be something to look into.

If you do child ID kits, you need to do it right: Have a polaroid-type camera and a laminating machine (depending on the kit).

Talk to parents about planning for college and collect their information for future follow up.

Our Farm Sales Manager was in yesterday, they are going to give us a branded Carhartt coat to giveaway in a drawing, which should supply me quite a few new names and telephone numbers for possible contacts.

We are bringing up our popcorn machine and ordered some branded stadium cups to put the popcorn in.

Get some large coffee filters (the Mr Coffee kind) and line the caps with them. Otherwise you're going to grease up the caps and no one will want to wear them.

I was confused while reading that the caps would be greasy and no one would wear them!
