First Health Part D Value Plus

From what I hear Humana get's the lion's share with their low ball premium plan.

If true, not surprising.

For years I have seen folks that purchase major med with no Rx coverage or generic only. Sometimes it is stupidity.

Sometimes it is because "I don't take any medication".

But I repeat myself . . .

With all due respect "70 - 80%" seems like a "perry ooops" :1eek::1err::1tongue:

AARP raised their premiums for 2012
Wellcare was about the only other plan that was competitive with $0 copay on generics but runs $58 a month. Then you have Humana with the low premiums but the $320 prescription deductible that no one wants.

When the #'s come out, I think you're going to see First Health Value Plus $24.20 monthly premium, $0 deductible and $0 copays on generics.....70% at least market share!

Ran into a poor fellow who has the big CA and receiving heavy meds for treatment. Ran the plans on Med.gov and 31 plans are available. Retail price of his Rx is over 33k.

First health did not look so good in this instance, in fact they were among the highest Rx cost of the 31. I was surprised.

Two things here, one is a rural zip code with low population and secondly the expensive Rx. About all other scenarios First Health has shined about the brightest. In fact yesterday moved a fellow over from the First Health (high end plan) costing 86.80 per mo, to the lower cost First Health Premier plan... and it saved him not only the nearly 70 bucks in premium, it also saved him huge $$$ on the diff in cost of Rx under the cheaper FH plan, versus the 86.80 plan, soone to be 92 bucks per month and have an even wider spread of Rx costs... go figure.
