GF hit 20 days ago. When I first reported, I said car was driveablie, but within a day or so, it was obvious tire would not hold air, and gave up after 2 days of reinflating. Ins co appraisal a few days later shows big crack in rim, says rim and tire need replacing, and mentions that I reported during appraisal that tire would not hold air.
Because GF cannot drive car and cannot afford to pay for rental herself, I have had to rearrange my life for 20 days now to drive her everywhere.
Ins co finally responded with lowball offer 40% lowest repair estimate, and zero compensation for loss of use.
Is there anything I need to be aware of before filing claim for loss of use due to my making the mistake of initially telling them I thought the car was driveable?
