FMO or IMO vs BGA ??

In the Senior sub-form I see agents discussing FMO's (or sometimes call them IMO's).

Today, while looking for some annuity information, I ran onto a BGA.

What is the difference between an FMO and a BGA?

BGA is a Brokerage General Agent is an insurance wholesaler that assist agents in placing various insurance products with insurance companies. I really have not seen any difference in the way IMOs and BGAs operate.
