I wonder what the forum would be like if we got rid of signatures?

I wonder what the forum would be like if we were not allowed to sell our product and service on a thread and ONLY in the offers section.

I wonder what the forum would be like if we were not allowed to say things like -

Check out my interview on.....
Call me about.......
A 110% is crazy low, i have seen 180% to 200%...

Wouldn't it be great if the forum hired a team of moderators to constantly monitor the forum and delete the un-wanted and not needed comments. (yes I know it is not going to happen)

Seeing how we are all not idiots we all know that our sole purpose of saying the things above and others is to sell our product or recruit and it is for no other reason. If the signature wasn't allowed then we would either stay on the forum to actually try and give good advise or we would leave.

We all know that when we post one liners and other stupid **** it is so our signature is blasted to the Forum world.

Yes I have done all this, I am guilty of everything I am saying above and yes I suck at telesales, field sales, and my leads suck, I am also fat and ugly. If I missed any slams please feel free to fog the mirror.

Too funny, I posted in FE thread because it seems we make up rules as we go along.

That would kill the forum. Part of the reason why this is so active of a community is because of Sam's commitment to letting folks speak their peace. There are also a lot of folks that are on here with things in their signatures that actually provide quality content. Shawn Walker I think is a great example of this. He doesn't post a lot, he provides insight about a side of the business that isn't well covered here, and he does it all without being annoying.

Also, if you're a vendor on here just blasting one liners to get your signature all over the forum, you might want a different strategy. Yes, to some degree folks will do business with folks just because they see a signature, but multiple posts to get your signature on here don't do anything to help your SEO and they do even less for helping you connect with your audience. In fact, if you have sitewide links on here like any regular poster, sometimes that can actually hurt your SEO efforts.

I don't believe anyone said anything about compensation one way or the other. I also was commenting more about deleting "not needed comments".
