A few months ago, I noticed a $410 charge from infoUSA on our Discover bill. Funny, I never bought anything from them. I contested the charge and waited for their findings.
Today, Discover contacted me and said it was indeed an act of fraud. Someone had used my card to buy a business list. They are issuing new cards with a new account number.
Guess who uses business lists? Telemarketers. Did I use my Discover card to pay a telemarketer earlier this year? Yep.
I imagine some of you know who I am referring to. It might be wise to check your credit card statements closely. Very closely.
